Birthday Reminder 1.0

Announces the names of people in your address book, who have birthdays within the week.

About Birthday Reminder
It goes without saying that business people who are able to build relationships with their prospects and clients, have an easier time converting those prospects, and keeping their clients. It is in that spirit, that I created Birthday Reminder. This Free application will announce the names of people in your address book, who have birthdays within the week. Very simple, but very powerful. Never forget a birthday.

Birthday Reminder is a simple Automator program, inteded to be run at startup, that will remind you of important birthdays coming up every week. When run, It will speak the greeting, “Good Morning! The following people in your address book have birthdays this week.”, then it will speak the names of those people, and the dates of their birthdays. I have included the Birthday Reminder workflow to enable you to change volume, voice, or to adapt this workflow to do other things.

Radio Startup 1.0.3

Sets your iTunes volume and computer volume, then plays a radio station, or podcast when your computer starts.

About Radio Startup
A few years ago, I created a little application called iTunes Startup, and made it available as a free download on my website. I has been very popular over the years. Recently, a user emailed me and asked if it could be used for internet radio. I loved the idea, so I adapted iTunes Startup specifically for internet radio, and renamed it Radio Startup.

Radio Startup is a simple Automator application intended to start your day off right. I like to listen to internet radio at work, and I want it to be playing when I get there in the morning, and I want it to play at a nice low-medium volume level, so I don’t scare anyone in the office. Radio Startup will set your computer volume and iTunes volume at a reasonable level, then begin playing an internet radio station or podcast, when your computer starts.

Use it with the “Start up or wake” option in the Energy Saver preference panel, to have your computer start up, and begin playing music, just before you get to work in the morning, or set it as an alarm to wake you up in the morning with your favorite music.

If you are an iTunes U administrator, you likely already know how to manage your site using Apple’s iTunes desktop application. And while iTunes is powerful, simple and straightforward to use, it can become cumbersome, even tedious, to do so whenever you need to make more than just a handful of changes to your iTunes U site.

In order to help administrators perform routine maintenance on their sites, Apple has made a web services interface to iTunes U available. The difficulty, however, using the web service is its seeming complexity — especially for non-programmers or those not well-versed with XML tools, such as XMLSchema and XQuery.

That is where the Woolamaloo Automator actions can help. The Woolamaloo actions encapsulate many of the iTunes U web services in a form that non-programmers can easily use — a set of Mac OS X Automator actions. The Woolamaloo actions can be configured using Apple’s desktop workflow tool, Automator, and can be combined to perform routine iTunes U administrative tasks — even tasks of arbitrary complexity. Many more features.
