About iKanji
A tool for learning Japanese kanji characters on your Mac. It features customisable flash cards and three different test modules. The tests cover kanji meanings, readings and stroke writing. iKanji keeps a detailed history of your test scores over time so you can track your learning progress.
iKanji contains 2230 kanji, that includes Japanese school grade kanji up to level 6 and JLPT levels 1 to 4. In addition there are 214 kanji radicals. Nearly 20,000 example words are also provided in kanji and kana with their meaning in English. Many kanji also have stroke animations.
Whats New in this Version
- Over 600 stroke animations are now included, covering all of the JLPT 4 and 3 kanji plus many more.
- The set of example words has been refined to those in more common usage.
- Obscure non-jouyou kanji readings have been removed.
- Internally iKanji uses a new SQLite database for better performance and memory usage.
- The stroke animation editor has been improved for easier use with a mouse, see the help documentation for details.
- A number of errors in the kanji database have been corrected.
- A bug which could cause problems taking the various tests has been corrected.
