Movies
Go from the silver screen to any screen. Rent or buy your favorite movies on your computer, iPhone, iPod touch, or Apple TV. Then play them anywhere you want. iTunes helps you build a go-anywhere, open-anytime multiplex.
Rent movies.
With titles from every major Hollywood studio, the iTunes Store makes it easy to rent your favorite movies with a click. Standard-definition movie rentals are $2.99 for library titles and $3.99 for new releases. And for just a dollar more, you can rent HD movies directly from your computer or from your widescreen TV via Apple TV. You can even rent movies from the iTunes Store on your iPod touch or iPhone and download them over the air.1 Rent a movie and you have 30 days to start watching it. Hit Play, and you have 24 hours to finish it — or watch it as many times as you want. Rentals disappear when they expire, so they won’t take up space on your hard drive.
Buy movies.
If you enjoyed the movie you just rented, consider making it a permanent fixture in your digital collection. From comedy to drama, romance to classic, independent to thriller, the iTunes Store has thousands of movies available for purchase. Buy your movie in HD from your computer or from your widescreen TV via Apple TV and see every brilliant detail. High-definition movies play in stunning 720p resolution. Your HD movie purchase also includes a standard-definition version that’s perfect for viewing on your iPhone or iPod. Or you can wirelessly download a movie directly to your iPod touch or iPhone via the iTunes Store.1 Most movie titles start at $9.99. And short films — including popular Pixar animated shorts — cost only $1.99.
Get movie recommendations.
Imagine a movie theater that shows only films you love. The Genius sidebar is a lot like that. Just select a movie in your iTunes library, and the Genius sidebar displays insightful recommendations. It never suggests a movie you've already purchased. And you can preview, buy, or rent movies in the sidebar with a click.
Browse and watch.
When you download movies from iTunes, they’re immediately added to your Movies library. View your entire movie collection by title or genre using Grid View. And when it comes time to play, enjoy a 640-by-480-pixel image (standard definition) or a 720p resolution image (high definition) that looks positively brilliant on your computer and just as great on your iPod or iPhone.2 Have an Apple TV? Pair it with your computer and enjoy iTunes movies from the best seat in the house: your couch.
Sync and go.
Movies you rent or buy from the iTunes Store transfer to your iPod3 or iPhone to watch on the go. Your iPod or iPhone remembers where you stopped watching on your computer and picks up where you left off.
