Senior Flat Panel Engineer
Apple is looking for several Sr. Flat Panel Engineers to develop the new process and design for the flat panel technologies used in Apple products such as iPhone, iPod touch and other LCD products. These individuals will play a key role in the designing and the process development of advanced flat panels from the initial concept to the product ramp. They shall station in Asia locally, but functionally report to Apple Engineering Development Team in Cupertino, California.
Job Openings:
- Sr. Panel Process Integration Engineer – thin film deposition, photo-lithography, etching & inspection for the TFT array fabrication
- Sr. Cell Process Integration Engineer – coating, cell assembly, liquid crystal injection and seal
- Sr. Module Process Integration Engineer – lamination, bonding, final assembly & inspection
- Principal Panel Electronics Architect – Array design, panel electronics and SPICE simulations for the next generation of panel technology
Major responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Apple HQ Team in California and Apple industrial partners in Asia to design and develop the new flat panel devices that enable the best display performance of products
- Achieve the best design goal using an optimized manufacturing process for a high volume production
- Analyze trade-offs among the performance, manufacturability, schedule and cost
- Work with the Operation Team to drive the suppliers to optimize the processes and establish the manufacturing infrastructure
- Support the engineering builds at Apple OEM’s in Asia
- Work with the project team and supply base team throughout product development phase and support the initial product ramp
Qualification Requirements:
- The candidates will need to have hands-on experience and proven track record in the relevant areas in the flat panel industry
- Demonstrated ability to perform DOE, SPC and failure analysis is a must
- Experience is required in either: 1) developing and manufacturing high volume display products; or 2) displays, either in panel design, array process, LC cell assembly, or module process integration
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills and people skills are required
- The willingness and ability to travel are required
- Normally requires a MS degree plus a minimum 3 years experience, or BS degree plus a minimum of 5 years experience.
