Streamlined Multitrack Interface.

Work with powerful tools in a streamlined interface that simplifies the audio post-production process.

Multitrack Timeline

The multitrack Timeline features a Waveform Editor that’s integrated into the single-window interface so you can fly through audio editing. Starting with a simple Timeline, you can progressively disclose additional interface controls for sophisticated tasks — even customizing screen layouts for configurations like single- and dual-display systems.

Action List

Multitrack Action List

Instantly recall a list of processing and edits for any file or clip in your multitrack project using the multitrack Action List. You can easily reorder, suspend, or delete any process or edit at any time, right in the single-window interface.

STP interface elements

The Bin

Use the Bin to organize and manage audio files, clips, and markers across multiple projects. The Bin includes a powerful search tool and single-click access to your media.

Integrated video playback

Now you can watch perfectly synchronized HD or SD video right in the integrated playback window, view it full screen and full resolution on a second monitor with Digital Cinema Desktop, or send it through professional I/O devices to a broadcast monitor.

Advanced Audio Editing.

Edit audio faster than ever with a comprehensive set of professional tools built for precision and speed.

Nondestructive, multichannel Waveform Editor

An integrated multichannel Waveform Editor lets you select any clip from the multitrack Timeline, then perform nondestructive or destructive edits and processing to the audio file. Action layers give you even more creative freedom by allowing you to reorder, suspend, or delete processes and edits.

Nondestructive

Spectrum view editing

Editing Spectrum20070414

Spectrum view gives you an alternative way to see audio using a color-coded waveform. You can also select and edit specific frequency ranges — perfect for audio cleanup and restoration.

Fade Selector

Using the Fade Selector, you can quickly customize fade and crossfade curves.

Rolling edits

Trimming tools in Soundtrack Pro 2 let you easily adjust trim points between audio clips.

Tape-style scrubbing

Clearly hear audio at any speed while scrubbing the playhead to find important edit points.

Dialogue Tools.

Sophisticated tools help you build the perfect dialogue edit.

Advanced take management

View all recording takes simultaneously in a single window using the Multitake Editor. You can quickly select the best snippets to create a composite, and Soundtrack Pro automatically crossfades between takes for smooth playback. Build comps from multitake recordings made in Soundtrack Pro 2 or from any set of standard audio files created in other applications.

Take Management
Lift and Stamp

Lift & Stamp

You can select audio effects that have been applied to one clip and instantly copy them to other clips. Lift & Stamp also lets you take an EQ print from one audio clip and apply it elsewhere to make multiple clips sound the same. You can save lifted effects groups and EQ prints for later use in other projects.

Restoration

Soundtrack Pro includes a set of audio tools that lets you analyze an audio file for common problems — like clicks and pops, hum, and phase issues — and fix them individually or all together. A Reduce Noise feature allows you to eliminate unwanted background sounds such as wind and traffic.

Sound Design.

Build a complete soundtrack using Studio Effects plug-ins and an extensive array of music beds, sound effects, and sound-sculpting features.

Multipoint spotting display

Multipoint spotting display

A breakthrough three-up video display helps you quickly place audio clips at specific points in the video by showing frames for start, sync, and end points in real time while audio is being positioned.

Professional audio effect plug-ins

Sculpt exactly the sound you want using Studio Effects, in stereo and surround. Soundtrack Pro also supports third-party Audio Units plug-ins.

Effects

Extensive effects library

Work with over 5000 royalty-free sound effects and music beds from the Studio Sound Library, including 1000 sound effects and music beds in 5.1 surround. You can also extend your collection using third-party sound libraries.

Studio Effects in surround

Shape your sound in surround using True Surround Studio Effects, including compressors, delays, and reverbs.

Action-based editing

Layer sounds in the multichannel Waveform Editor, then experiment freely by using the Action List to quickly reorder, suspend, or delete edits and processing steps.

Mixing for Picture.

Surround mixing

Create cinematic soundtracks for your project using discrete 5.1 mixing, bussing, and routing.

Surround Panner

An innovative Surround Panner dynamically represents how sound is positioned within the surround field. Rotation, collapse, and discrete LFE sliders provide complete control over your surround mix, while integrated meters show sound levels on all six channels.
