Simplify your inventory process

Taking inventory used to mean emailing all employees and asking them for the serial numbers on their computers. Then you waited. And waited. And asked again. With Apple Remote Desktop you can run a System Overview report on all your computers, selecting Serial Number from the Computer section. In a matter of minutes, your inventory is done!

Get reports based on new data versus cached data

Each of the reports has an option to “Rebuild data for report.” This means that instead of relying on a cache of collected system information to build your report, info is gathered directly from the client. New data will be more recent than cached data, but the report will take longer to run. The age of your cached data depends on the reporting policy you set up when you installed the Apple Remote Desktop software on your admin computer or your Task Server. Review or change your upload schedule and collected data from the Remote Desktop Info window for one or more clients.
